Roanoke: July 4 FIREWORKS start at 9:30 p.m. from River’s Edge field. A day of fun, food for purchase or bring a picnic, face painting and at 8 p.m., it's the Music for Americans Concert at River's Edge followed by Fireworks.

Forest: 28th Independence Day Celebration at Poplar Forest Children can play period games and watch a reenactment of the Virginia Militia. Music, period artisans and craftsmen. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 4. $8 admission- Under 15 free. Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest.

Bedford: Celebrate Independence Day with a visit to the D-Day Memorial. The National monument Closes at 5 p.m. July 4. Regular fees apply. Bedford's Evening FIREWORKS will be July 5, presented by Bedford Moose Lodge 1897, at 9 p.m. at their Rt. 460 location.  

Lynchburg: The Lynchburg Hillcats are home July 4th. FIREWORKS will follow their 7:05 game against the Frederick Keys. 

Moneta FireWORX Celebrate Independence Day with music by the WORX Band, with vendors, food, beverages, games and more, followed by FIREWORKS. 6-10:30 p.m.

Mountain Lake: Americana Weekend at Mountain Lake Lodge, Admission $5. Celebrate Fourth of July weekend with the Dinner Picnic Summer Music Series: July 4 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on the front lawn and gazebo. July 5 from 4-8 p.m. at the Salt Pond Stables with BBQ dinner and live music. July 6 from 7-9:30 p.m. Square dancing at Mary’s Barn. July 7: Live band and arts & crafts show in Mary’s Barn.

Nelson County: 4th of July Parade at 11 a.m. along Front Street in Lovingston. 

Vinton Fourth of July Celebration Entertainment, children’s activities, patriotic program and festival foods. Fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

Pulaski: July 4 Celebration Parade at 11 a.m. followed by a county remembrance of veterans at the old courthouse. 11 a.m. Free.  

Buchanan: 60th Fourth of July Carnival Parade on July 4th at 6:00 p.m. with Fireworks July 4th at 10 p.m. Carnival Games, Rides, Food and Music. Fireworks again on Saturday, July 7th at 11:00 pm. Carnival begins at 6:30 p.m. each evening except Sunday. Wrist Bands $25. Advance Tickets $17.
