FOREST, Va. (WSET) -- Teva Pharmaceuticals, based in Philadelphia, has decided to sell or close the plant in Forest.
Employees were notified of the decision Wednesday morning.
Denise Bradley, with the corporate team, said the company's preference is to sell the plant, and to that end they are in the process of asking local, state, and federal officials for their help in identifying a buyer for the site.
If Teva is unable to find a buyer for the site, they said approximately 300 jobs will be impacted over the course of the next three years and outplacement services and severance benefits will be offered to those employees.
Teva said they prefer that the buyer will maintain the jobs already there.
