Police: Convenience store robbed; handgun drawn on clerk

March 8, 2018 - Roanoke Police responded to a robbery call at the Lafayette Express convenience store in the 1000 block of Lafayette Blvd N.W. last night at 9:35 p.m.  On the officers' arrival they were advised that a black male described to be in his 40's and about 5'10" in height came into the store and approached the counter.

Police say the robber pulled out a handgun from his clothing and pointed it towards the clerk. He advised the clerk to give him everything he had. The male then moved behind the counter towards the clerk. After a brief physical confrontation with the clerk the male fled on foot.
