Multiple residents displaced following fire in Lynchburg townhome

UPDATE: According to Battalion Chief Bomar, at least two townhomes are uninhabitable and multiple residents are displaced.

Torrence Harman was home with his girlfriend and five children when the fire started.

"[I] Could hear some weird sounds coming from the bathroom so my girlfriend she got up and looked and seen the fire and I hopped up out of bed and I tried to put it out. Once I realized it was out of control I got everybody out of the house and called the fire department," Harman said,

Officials said the fire most likely started from the second story bathroom ceiling fan, but an investigation will be conducted.

The American Red Cross is assisting family.
