April 12, 2018 - Vehicles across Virginia could be moving billboards for the fight against distracted driving as a new license plate has been chosen for this campaign.

A Blacksburg High School student has taken home $1,000 and her design for a new license plate could be on hundreds of vehicles in the state.

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles and AAA Mid-Atlantic teamed up for the Take Action Against Distraction License Plate Contest.

High school students designed eight different license plate concepts; Kaya Windpainter from Blacksburg High School was chosen as the Roanoke District winner and Destinee Glover from Nelson County High School was chosen as the Staunton District winner.
