posted by Caroline Cook -

April 16, 2018 - The City of Lynchburg announced this morning that after assessing storm damage in the area, they are not requesting volunteers at this time due to fallen debris and power lines that may be live.

Thomas Road Baptist Church said if you want to help with their shelter or with cleanup teams to call 434-592-6100.

Gleaning for the World is having a collection site at Sam's Club on Wards Road Monday from noon - 6 p.m., Tuesday from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., and Wednesday from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. to collect items for those impacted by the severe storms and tornadoes.

If you would like to help with cleaning up debris and trash at Brookville High School they are asking people to come to the school between 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. Monday. Major items will not be touched until insurance can assess the damage. Bring gloves, rakes, and trash bags if you can.
