MD man accused of tying up and stabbing wife; tells 911 he was attacked

After a man called 911 and reported that he and his wife had been stabbed, detectives determined that he had attacked his wife while she was asleep.

When officers arrived at the single-family home in the 2500 block of Archway Lane in Bryans Road at 1:57 p.m. Friday, they found Armando Quispe Rodriguez, 45, with cuts to his hands. His wife was in the basement and had around 20 stab wounds.

Rodriguez and his wife were flown to two different hospitals with serious injuries.

Rodriguez is a Prince George's County corrections officer employed at the Upper Marlboro jail. He is now on leave without pay.

The investigation determined that Rodriguez had attacked his sleeping wife, shackled her ankles, handcuffed her, and stabbed about 20 times over a period of hours, according to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office. A spokesperson says he also put a bag over her head at one point and also tried to strangle her with a belt.
