May 21, 2018 - A National Weather Service team has concluded that a tornado touched down in Bedford County on Saturday.
According to officials, the tornado was just south of Mount Olivet Road and took place at 9:36 p.m.
They said the tornado remained on the ground almost continually as it moved north-northeast at around 30 miles per hour through open farmland, just west of Big Easy Place Road.
The tornado continued a short distance north before lifting around 9:38 p.m.
Officials said 50 trees were either snapped, uprooted, or damaged along the path of the tornado.
No homes or buildings were impacted.
