Overnight Fire Destroys Lynchburg Home

According to Lynchburg Emergency Communications, the call came in at 12:12 a.m. on Thursday in the 2,600 block of Lakeside Drive. 

The Lynchburg Fire Department fire captain on the scene says the house was vacant. 

The captain says one firefighter was treated for smoke inhalation and exertion at the scene and will be OK.

The house was fully engulfed when fire crews arrived. It took crews 45 minutes to get the blaze under control. 

No word yet on what caused the fire.
