Police: 1 killed, 1 seriously injured in Pulaski County car crash

UPDATE @ 3:14PM 

The accident occurred on Route 11 near the Courtney Lane intersection.  Upon arrival at the scene, deputies found three vehicles with heavy front end damage and single occupants in each vehicle. 

The drivers were identified as Justin Mathew Collins, 30, of Barren Springs, who was flown to Roanoke Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.  Gene Owens Lisi, 41, of Dublin who sustained minor injuries and Sara Ann Hunter, 59, of Dublin, who was fatally injured during the crash. 

The preliminary investigation and witness statements confirm, Collins was traveling south on Route 11 when his vehicle veered into the north bound lane impacting the truck driven by Hunter.  A secondary impact occurred when Collns' vehicle struck the SUV driven by Lisi.

This remains an active crash investigation. 

June 1, 2018 - A three-vehicle accident on Route 11 in Pulaski County between Dublin and Fairlawn has killed one person and seriously injured another. 

Emergency personnel were called to the scene around 7:20 a.m. today.  According to the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department, one driver has died and another had to be airlifted to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.  The third driver was not seriously injured. 

Officials are not yet releasing the name of the person who was killed. 

Police say that Route 11 is expected to reopen soon.
