Man arrested for impersonating an officer in Rockbridge County

Virginia State Police arrested a man for leading a trooper on to believe he was a police officer.

They said on May 25, the man was pulled over for a traffic stop and displayed a Police Department Identification Card.

Police said Mays was driving a white SUV traveling 69 miles an hour in a 55 mile zone.

According to officials, the investigation into Mays' employment found that he had completed his service as a law enforcement officer on April 30, 2018 and after his separation wit his agency, he did not turn in the ID card.
