Sweet Briar College is "on warning" after the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges reviewed its 2017 financials.
College President Meredith Woo wrote a letter to the community on the school's website saying this is not surprising given the college's unpredictable financials just two years after the near closure.
The Chronicle of Higher Education says the warning status does not mean the college is in imminent danger of losing its accreditation. It does put the college on a 12-month timeline to correct the shortcomings identified by the accreditor.
Sweet Briar must also show that it, "manages its financial resources in a responsible manner."
