Husband and wife arrested after stabbing a man during a fight in Roanoke

June 25, 2018 - Roanoke Police said two people have been arrested after a stabbing in Roanoke this past weekend.

Offices responded to the 2300 block of Williamson Road, NE, around 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, after an assault call.

The responding officer found several people on a balcony at the address and then saw a man, later identified as Frederick Vandyke, 44, of Roanoke covered in blood and leaning on the railing of the balcony.  Vandyke told police he had been stabbed.  He was taken to a hopsital.

Vandyke's girlfriend told police that the group was standing on the balcony when another group of people pulled into the parking lot, got out of their vehicle, and began yelling at someone in another apartment.  When Vandyke's group told them to stop yelling, the two groups then got into a verbal fight that turned physical.
