Boil Water Notice Lifted in Rocky Mount

July 18, 2018 - The town of Rocky Mount has lifted its boil water notice for customers on West College Hatcher, Dent, Cedar, Oak, Spring, Brown, Luke, Buckner and Wilson Streets.

Those impacted can now drink the water and use it for household purposes.

The notice was issued on Friday, July 13, after a water line break in the area caused a section of a pipe to be replaced.

They said the Virginia Department of Health requires two days of bacteriological testing before consumption to ensure the water is safe to drink.
