Broadway Actress and Local Alumni Returning to E.C. Glass to Teach

Broadway actress and educator, Allison Daugherty, is returning to Lynchburg to be the Artistic Director of Glass Theatre and Teacher of Theatre Arts at E.C. Glass High School.

Daugherty has worked with Oscar, Tony, Obie and Emmy award winning actors and directors and is excited to use her training and experience to help students at E.C. Glass.

She also is a graduate of E.C. Glass theater.

y theatre seed was planted at Glass and I have been an actress and teacher ever since," said Daugherty. "When I’m not acting, I’m teaching, when not teaching or directing, I’m acting. It all boils down to a love of the craft. Theatre can change lives; I’ve seen it give people a voice, express the inexpressible, develop remarkable critical thinking and cultivate empathy. It’s also a blast."

She has credits on Broadway, off-Broadway, and in regional theatre, film, television, commercials and voice-overs, and radio, including 'Sex and the City', 'Madam Secretary', and 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent'.

Daugherty has been working as a teaching artist with Broadway's Manhattan Theatre Club since 2007 and served as a guest teacher at the Horace Mann School in Riverdale, New York.
