A pedestrian was hit by a car Saturday night in Roanoke, according to police.
The incident happened in the 2200 block of Williamson Road NE at around 10:30 p.m.
Officers arrived on the scene and found the victim in the road. The victim was transported to Roanoke Carilion Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
Officials say a initial investigation shows a vehicle was travelling north on Williamson Road when it struck the pedestrian, who was lying in the road.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperate with police.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing and Roanoke Police will be woking with the Commonwealth Attorney's Office.
