Roanoke Police: Suspect Turns Herself In for July 29th Homicide

Roanoke Police say that around 10:30 a.m. today, Shaniqua Hundley came to the police department and turned herself in for the July 29th homicide of Cedric Gillum.  

Hundley was served a warrant for second degree homicide and transported to the Roanoke City Jail. 

The investigation is on-going. 


July 30, 2018 - On July 29, 2018 at approximately 6:30 p.m., Roanoke Police responded to a report of a victim with a gunshot wound in the 4500 block of Melrose Avenue, NW.  

Upon arrival, officers located an adult males from Salem with gunshot wounds.  The victim was transported by Roanoke Fire-EMS to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital were he was pronounced dead. The victim has been identified as Cedric Bernard Gillum, age 30, of Salem. 

Roanoke Police have obtained a warrant for Shaniqua Aaliyah Hundley, ago 30, of Roanoke, for Second Degree Murder in connection with this incident.
