Alright, let's take a few minutes and chat about the rumor that is circling Twitter today. Esquire reported that producers on the upcoming James Bond films are looking to tap Idris Elba to replace Daniel Craig.
And I'm all for it.
Some may know Elba from his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Heimdall. Other's know him as DCI John Luther. Still other's might have heard his voice in films such as Finding Dory and The Jungle Book. Personally, he was one of my favorite parts of the first Pacific Rim.
Rumors about Elba being the next James Bond started in 2014 when a producer attached to the project had an email leak that said that he should be the next Bond. Since then, he has repeatedly said that he would not be the next James Bond. He's even said that they aren't even considering him for the role.
Earlier this year, he talked to Variety and said that they should cast either a woman or a black person as the next James Bond.
What do you think?
Are there any truth to the rumors?
Is Idris Elba the next James Bond?
I certainly hope so.

I will become a Bond fan for Idris Elba. I will never miss a single movie ever again as long as he's Bond; James Bond.— Darla Catalano (@carly__bird) August 10, 2018
Roger Moore's first bond film way released when he was 45, and he was in six more after that up until he was 57. And that was in the 70s and 80s; 50 is a lot younger today than it was back then.— Ben Brachfeld (@benbrachfeld) August 10, 2018
