First County Fair in 40 Years Opens Thursday in Amherst

posted by Mia Adams -

After 40 years, Amherst's County fair is set to open its gates on Thursday, August 16, 2018.

The fair will feature games and contests, live acts, and of course rides. There will be fireworks on Friday night.

While it has been over 40 years, officials in Amherst say this is the biggest event they've ever planned.

The fair will be on Sweet Briar lane. Admission will be $2 per person, children three-years-old and younger will get in free, and you can pay $20 for one unlimited session on rides.
