Virginia State Police said officers issued 322 indictments against 68 individuals in a mass operation titled 'Operation Dog Days of Summer.'
Police said the arrests were made Tuesday, August 14 after a 12-month long investigation by members of the task force and targeted drug offenders in counties of Alleghany, Bath, the Town of Clifton Forge, and the City of Covington.
Indictments included possession and distribution of illegal narcotics and obtaining money by false pretenses.
During the arrests, police said they seized one-half pound of marijuana, two grams of meth, and four firearms.
59 of the 68 wanted individuals have been arrested.
The remaining nine individuals are believed to be in various parts of Virginia and the surrounding states.
Police said they are actively trying to locate the wanted suspects.
