Police are urging people to avoid Jacksonville Landing, a popular downtown area in Jacksonville, Florida after a gunman opened fire on a crowd of people on Sunday (August 26) afternoon. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Officeconfirmed the shooting on Twitter, and warned that "the area is not safe at this time."
According to News4Jax, witnesses said that they saw multiple ambulances and that police and firefighters were shutting down roads in the area. 11 people were reportedly shot, and four people have died, but those numbers have not been confirmed by law enforcement.
The shooting reportedly happened at a video game tournament being held at GLHF Game Bar. Gunshots could be heard as people were playing Madden 19 in a video of the incident. The clip was posted on video game streaming site Twitch, but has since been removed.
