Bedford Police Searching Fugitive After Fleeing Traffic Stop

 The Bedford County Sheriff's Office said they are searching for a man wanted in multiple jurisdictions.

The  sheriff's office said a deputy stopped a pickup truck on Thomas  Jefferson Road for multiple traffic violations on Thursday, August 30.

They  said the driver gave the deputy a false ID and while the deputy was  attempting to identify him, he fled on foot in the area of Thomas  Jefferson Road and Everett Road.

Deputies  eventually identified him as 27-year-old Dustin Wayne Gilliam and  determined he has ties to Amherst County, Campbell County, and Raleigh,  North Carolina.

He is wanted in Amherst County on charges including a probation violation and malicious wounding.

He's also wanted in Bedford County on multiple charges.
