Liberty University and Norfolk State officials have agreed to postpone this weekend's scheduled football game to December 1, 2018.
If Norfolk State has not qualified for post-season play, the Flames will host the Spartans on December 1 at Williams Stadium for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff. All tickets sold for the September 15 game will be valid for the rescheduled game.
Liberty University Director of Athletics, Ian McCaw, said, "The decision to postpone the game was based on student-athlete, staff and fan safety. We look forward to hosting Norfolk State on December 1."
Norfolk State University and many areas around the eastern shore of Virginia have been placed on a mandatory evacuation due to the threat of flood from Hurricane Florence. Norfolk State has cancelled all classes beginning at 12:30 p.m. today. The university will officially close today at 5:00 p.m. and will not re-open until Monday, September 17.
