The City of Roanoke is asking residents with emergency needs co complete a registry form that will help first responders prioritize and respond to rescue operations accordingly.
The Emergency Needs Registry website allows residents and businesses where persons with special needs reside an opportunity to provide information, confidentially, to better plan to serve them in a disaster or other emergency.
Any resident that meets the following criteria should complete the confidential Emergency Needs Registry form:
- Dependent upon electricity for life sustaining medical equipment (i.e. home oxygen, dialysis);
- Are hearing, vision or speech impaired;
- Have a mental or cognitive condition;
- Dependent on prescription medication.
