Bedford Airman Shot, Killed While Based in Louisiana; Suspects Arrested

A U.S. Air Force sergeant who grew up in Bedford County has been killed while stationed in Louisiana.

Police said that 30-year-old Joshua Lewis Kidd was found with a gunshot wound to the chest on September 25, 2018 outside a home in Bossier City.

Kidd grew up in Moneta and his family lived on Smith Mountain Lake. 

According to a Louisiana newspaper, there had been a rash of burglaries in the neighborhood where Kidd was shot and residents have speculated that he was confronting a burgler. 

The Bossier City Police Department have arrested a 17-year-old and 15-year-old in connection to the death of Joshua Kidd.

The 17-year-old, Jareona Crosby and 15-year-old juvenile male are facing second degree murder charges for the shooting.
