L.L. Bean Donates $1M To Help Build Parks

Outdoors retailer L.L. Bean is doing their part to support a campaign to create more parks across the country with a million-dollar donation to a group working to make sure everyone in the U.S. has a park within a 10-minute walk of where they live. The Trust for Public Land has that goal for every citizen of the country, regardless of background, income, or zip code.

L.L. Bean’s gift to The Trust for Public Land will fund five community projects each year. Company chairman Shawn Gorman says the goal is to get people outside, “whether it’s a paddle down a remote river or a hike on a nearby neighborhood trail.”
