Lynchburg: Suicide Prevention Walk Aims to Raise Awareness & Funding

As the number of suicides increase, so do the supporters of suicide prevention.

The Out of the Darkness Walk in Lynchburg this Saturday, October 6, 2018, is expected to draw the largest crowd of supporters yet.

Registration begins at 9:00AM on Saturday at Riverfront Park in downtown Lynchburg.  You can sign up for the walk HERE.  The walk begins at 10:00AM and ends at 12 Noon.  There is no registration fee to participate in the walk.

New Country 107.9, WYYD, an iHeartMEDIA radio station, is proud to be the radio media partner for this event.

Proceeds raised at the walk fund mental health research, a suicide hotline, and other services. Raffle tickets will be sold for prizes donated by local businesses and artists.

If you, or a loved one, are struggling with suicidal thoughts or mental health issues, call the national Suicide Prevention Hotline, 24/7, at 1-800-273-8255.
