Man Charged With Murder Goes On Crime Spree

The Campbell County Sheriff's Office has officially charged Tony Allen Kidd with murder after a crime spree over the weekend killed one and resulted in an officer shot.

Kidd was arrested on Tuesday, October 9 and was charged with the second degree murder of Robin Chenault. He was also charged with use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

Documents from Campbell County Juvenile and Domestic Court shows Kidd was released from jail Friday night on a $2,500 unsecured bond after being arrested and charged with domestic assault.

He's accused of killing Robin and shooting her husband Dale Chenault. Dale is still recovering in the hospital. Kidd then stole the Chenault's vehicle which Lynchburg police spotted and began to persue.

This led to a standoff where gunfire was exchanged.
