Child Killed In Pittsylvania County Crash

Virginia State Police are investigating a crash that happened in Pittsylvania County that left a five-year-old dead and several others injured. 

Troopers responded to the incident that occurred on Route 30 just west of Route 775 about 1:34pm Tuesday afternoon. 

A woman ran off the right side of the road and hit a tree head on. 

The woman, along with two children were taken to Roanoke Memorial for non-life threatening injuries.  The five-year-old did not survive the crash. 

The woman was wearing a seat belt and all three children were either wearing a seat belt or were secured in a child safety seat.

Charges are pending.
