Operation Crankdown: Two More People Arrested In Montgomery County


A spokesperson for the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department says its office has arrested two more people in connection to Operation Crankdown. 

Alexis Bentley, 23, of Floyd and Daniel Price, 46, of Blacksburg are now in custody.  

Bentley is charged with one count of distribution of methamphetamine and Price is charged with three counts of conspiracy to distribute meth. 

Police are still searching for Brandon Sweeney, 37, of Radford, who is wanted on one count of conspiracy to distribute more than 10 grams of meth.


The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said 19 people have been charged in a more than year-long drug investigation, called Operation Crankdown.

Since May 2017, the sheriff's office said its VICE Unit with the assistance of the Christiansburg Police Department VICE Unit and Montgomery County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office have worked an investigation into the distribution of crystal methamphetamine in Montgomery County.
