Lynchburg: Two Women Wanted For Stealing $700 Plus From JCPenney

Lynchburg Police are looking for two women in connection with a shoplifting incident at River Ridge Mall.

Police responded to JCPenney for a shoplifting report around 4:15 p.m. yesterday.

They said the two women entered the store carrying either a bag or pocketbook. Employees reported that they saw the women hiding merchandise in their bags and notified police.

According to police, after selecting several items, the two woman left the store and got into a dark colored Chevrolet Malibu with Georgia license plates ARN-6019 and left the property.

Police said the women took 30 items that came to a total loss of $748.16.

They said one woman identified as Evora Askins, 52, of Lynchburg, has a warrant out for grand larceny.
