State Police is continuing to advise Virginians to avoid travel Monday in the western, southern, and central regions of the Commonwealth.
They said a third trooper was stuck Monday morning in Henrico Co. which resulted in a five-vehicle crash around 3:58 a.m.
According to police, a vehicle traveling northbound on I-295 lost control at the 31 mile marker by spinning out of control, colliding with several vehicles including a trooper and his patrol vehicle as he was working a crash on the right shoulder.
The trooper was seated inside his patrol car with the driver of the crash he was investigating.
Police said the trooper had to be transported to the hospital for minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
