Governor Northam has declared a State of Emergency for the Commonwealth to prepare for the first storm of 2019.

Our area is expected to sustain snow, ice and high winds, making driving conditions treacherous and causing power outages.

“I  am declaring a state of emergency in order to prepare and coordinate  the Commonwealth’s response to anticipated winter storm impacts,  including snow and ice accumulations, transportation issues, and power  outages,” said Governor Northam. “Virginians should take precautions to  stay safe as we begin experiencing winter weather effects.”

My  making the declaration, services in Virginia will  mitigate damage  caused by the storm and will streamline assistance to various  localities.
