A former high school basketball coach has been charged with child sex crimes, according to jail records.
Theodore Christian Moberg, of Vinton, has been charged with taking indecent liberties with a child younger than 15-years-old and proposing sex by an online device with a child younger than 15, but older than seven, according to Roanoke County jail records.
Police say both charges are felonies.
Moberg was arrested Monday, January 11 and booked into the jail at 5:45 p.m.
Jail records show the charges stem from an incident that happened on December 4, 2018.
Moberg used to coach girls basketball at Glenvar High School and was an English teacher with Roanoke County Schools, but resigned from both in 2017.
According to his website, he works as an insurance agent and investment professional with Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company.
Moberg is being held at the Roanoke County Jail without bond.
