The Backstreet Boys started the week off in Japan to promote their new album, "DNA", which hits shelves T O D A Y - and they landed back home here in the US late Wednesday and haven't stopped!
First, they stopped by "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" yesterday to perform their current single, "Chances", but also dressed as chickens. We're equally as entertained as we are confused, but hey, when you're the biggest selling boyband of all time, you gotta not be so serious all the time.
Yeah...Jimmy Fallon made the "Bawk!street Boys" a thing.
Our boys are definitely back again. Just in chicken suits.
After "The Tonight Show," their 10th studio album, "DNA" dropped at midnight and is already climbing the charts!
We went to sleep for a few hours, but then had to wake up even earlier because 21 years after Times Square got SHUT DOWN due to the amount of fans who wanted just a glimpse of the Boys, they took over Times Square once again, on Good Morning America!
They stopped by to hang out with fans, perform their newest single, "No Place" for the first time on TV, and of course, had to do their classic, "I Want It That Way"!
While there, they were asked what was the one song that they absolutely HATE of theirs, and it's a general consensus...even though the fans love it...you guessed it... "If You Want It To Be Good Girl (Get Yourself A Bad Boy)" from their debut album. It's pretty bad, but Nick goes HARD in it - which is funny, considering he doesn't hate it as much as everyone else (then again, he basically sings the entire thing).
The Boys then stopped by "On Air with Ryan Seacrest" to talk their new album before heading off to their iHeartRadio Album Release Party!
The Backstreet Boys then hit up the Sony store in NYC for a quick album signing -- and there was a line inside, a line outside...they've even said that it feels like the 90s again and as much as they're loving it, we're just as obsessed with watching the rise of our favorite boys again!
As if they hadn't done enough throughout the last 24 hours, they then headed to the exclusive 'iHeartRadio Album Release Party' and performed for an hour and it was SO MUCH FUN!
Here's a small clip from it - and we'll post more once iHeartRadio's account does :)
Fast-forward to Saturday, where the Boys had ANOTHER album release party with 95.5 PLJ in New York with a new interview and snippets from their new album, "DNA".
**You can click the photo above to watch it because it can't be embedded**
Or, CLICK HERE! (I gotchu) :)
Oh wait, they had ANOTHER album signing on Saturday after this appearance to make sure that fans taht couldn't get in on Friday, had another chance.
After FINALLY getting to catch up on some sleep on Sunday (remember, they've been jet-lagged because of being in Japan earlier in the week, they were on Elvis Duran this morning!
Their weekend in NYC is done, but on Friday, they ALSO slipped in a performance on "Live with Kelly & Ryan" which aired this morning! (Will update when I can find video!)
Point is, Backstreet's Back (BUT I JUST WANT TO POINT OUT THAT THEY NEVER LEFT, NEVER BROKE UP, CONTINUED TOURING AND MAKING ALBUMS BECAUSE I WAS THERE FOR ALL OF IT), and better than ever. :)
25 plus years later and I think it's safe to say that the Backstreet Boys are making a splash, doing something that no other boyband has been able to do...they've taken the time to get back into this place and after 17 years...THEY'RE NOMINATED FOR ANOTHER GRAMMY (STILL BITTER AF ABOUT THE 2000 GRAMMY'S BUT IT'S NOT THE TIME NOR PLACE FOR MY PROBLEMS)!
I'm SO ready for them to take over the pop world again and have been waiting since I was about 9 years old.
OH AND JUST SO WE ARE ALL AWARE, their new album "DNA" has been NUMBER ONE ON THE WORLDWIDE ITUNES CHART SINCE IT'S RELEASE.
