Houston's police chief says several officers have been shot in the southeast part of the city. The police department said on Twitter that the officers were shot during an encounter serving a warrant. It is reported than one suspect is dead and two others are barricaded in a home.
Initial reports state that two of the officers are in critical condition, the other three are listed in stable condition.
The shooting was reported around 5 p.m. in the 7800 block of Harding Street.
"We have had several officers shot please pray for officers on the way to the scene now more information to follow," HPD Police Chief Art Acevedo tweeted.
