Snow, Bitter Cold Could Cause Slippery Roads Tuesday & Wednesday

Enjoy the sun and clouds today because weather changes arrive as we head into tomorrow.

A strong Arctic front will cross Virginia on Tuesday bringing rain and snow showers, following a shot of cold air.

Beginning Tuesday morning, we'll see scattered rain and snow showers then it will transition to snow during the day.

Accumulations will be light, but travel will be impacted.

Please use caution when driving.

Totals will be in the one to three inches range, especially for higher elevations.

Black ice and slippery roads will be a concern later Tuesday into Wednesday morning.

After he snow, our attention will turn to the bitter cold for the rest of the week.

Lows will fall back into the teens Tuesday night and highs will barely reach above freezing Wednesday; lows will be in the single digits Wednesday and Thursday, but when you factor in the wind, it will be much worse.
