Lynchburg Police identify suspect wanted in overnight stabbing

The Lynchburg Police Department is looking for a 19-year-old connected to an overnight stabbing in Lynchburg.

he suspect was identified as Mario James Trejo, 19, of Lynchburg.

He's 6-foot-3, 180 pounds, and was last seen leaving the area on foot wearing a black jacket and black sweatshirt.

Trejo has been charged with Malicious Wounding and is currently on the run.

Police are investigating a stabbing in Lynchburg that happened around 2:10 a.m. this morning in the 100 block of Carnell Lane.

Authorities say a white male was stabbed in the chest and is now in the hospital.

Police do not know what led up to the stabbing.

The investigation is active and underway as they search for a suspect.

Police say there is no threat to the public.
