Man wanted for shooting police officer believed to be in the local area

Virginia State Police said the search for a West Virginia man wanted for shooting an officer in Bluefield, Virginia, is now focusing on the Lynchburg and Roanoke regions.

State Police said Donquale "DJ" Gray, 25, of Bluefield, West Virginia, shot an officer two weeks ago and could now be hiding out in our area.

Gray is wanted for attempted capital murder of a police officer. There is a $20,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.

State Police, the U.S. Marshals Service, ATF, West Virginia State Police and local law enforcement on both sides of the state line have been following up on dozens of tips related to the possible whereabouts of Gray.

Most recently, he was living in Bluefield, West Virginia.

He's originally from Chicago and is known to frequent friends and family there.
