Google to offer free digital training in Roanoke

On Monday, March 4, 2019, Google is coming to Roanoke as part of its Grown with Google initiative to help create economic opportunity in communities across the United States.

Google will hose a free, one-day event at Roanoke's Main Library, located at 706 S. Jefferson Street, S. W., from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. This event is designed to help job seekers, small business o owners, students, educators, and entrepreneurs improved their digital skills. Attendees are welcome to drop in for a few sessions or stay all day.

Google launched Grow with Google in 2017 with the goal of helping all Americans access the best of Google’s training and tools to grow their skills, careers, and businesses. The initiative aims to address the skills gap by preparing Americans for middle-skill jobs; positions that require some skills, but not four-year degrees.
