A cold blast of Arctic air arrives during the first weekend of March, and we’re tracking multiple chances of snow in Virginia next week.
Sunday looks wet across our area with increasing rain ahead of a cold front. The rain will change to snow across Virginia on Sunday night, March 3, 2019, and Monday morning, March 4th.
The mountains and northern Virginia look most likely for accumulations.
Locally, we could see 1” to 2” amounts in the Lynchburg and Roanoke areas if enough precipitation remains while the cold air builds into our area. Most of the precipitation will fall as rain over the Carolinas.
The next batch of precipitation arrives Tuesday, March 5th.
