Virginia EMT accused of making racist remarks on podcast cleared

The Virginia Department of Health has cleared a Patrick County medical technician accused of being a white supremacist, CNN reports.

Alex McNabb, a part-time EMT with the J.E.B. Stuart Rescue Squad EMT, reportedly made statements on a podcast about his enjoyment terrorizing a young black boy with a needle who needed an IV.

On the podcast, McNabb was a frequent co-host and went by the persona "Dr. Narcan."

It is reported he would repeatedly use racial slurs against black people and compare them to animals.

He claimed his role was part of a fictitious character he plays on the podcast and that none of it was real.

A formal investigation was opened after the Virginia Department of Health received a complaint about McNabb's involvement on the podcast in November.
